Lot Antique Handcuffs Peerless Handcuff Co191519402 pair of antique handcuffs with key by the peerless handcuff co. Both of these sets of handcuffs are marked the peerless handcuff co, springfield mass. And both are laso stamped trademark registered. The set shown in the picture with the key is stamped #77888 and pat-pat. Pending-1157135-1161562-1531451, made in the u. S. A. The key shown in the lock of the handcuffs is the original key and works both sets.It moves freely inside the lock and will release the lock in the cuff, but the pick or tooth on the key has become bent over time just enough to catch the edge of the metal just before it comes out of the lock. I have tried to get it out but i do not want to break the key since it is original and works for both sets. With the right tool ti should be an easy fix. This set is in excellent condition with very little surface rust and the latches easily make full rotations. The second set in the picture is stamped with 2 dates pat. Feb. 20, 1912 and below the patent date it is stamped nov. 23, 1915, both of the cuffs on this set are marked with those dates. This set is in excellent condition with a very small amount of surface rust. The latches make a full rotation but one side could sue some wd-40 because it takes a little force to move through.
